1948 to 1963 90% silver coin ring with Founding Father Benjamin Franklin on the obverse showing the date minted and says “Liberty - In God We Trust” and the Liberty Bell on the reverse. Large part of both are lost when coin is made into a ring (see pictures). A small eagle was placed to the right of the bell to fulfill the legal requirement that half dollars depict the figure of an eagle. Produced in 90% silver with a reeded edge, the coin was struck at the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco mints. Chief engraver, John R. Sinnock designs were based on his earlier work, but he died before their completion. The designs were completed by Sinnock's successor, Gilroy Roberts. Coin contains 90% silver and 10% copper. If you request the date facing in Which will say “United States of America Half Dollar” with a small eagle as the band of the ring and the date will be on the inside. I will cover the cost of the coin up to $10.00 If for some reason the coin you want cost more than $10.00, I will contact you and let you know if you want to pay the difference. I try my best to get coins in very good - great condition, uncirculated, or proof. Sometimes a lesser quality coin might be all I can locate at that time, and I will contact you if this is the case. US Law on altering money:
Whoever fraudulently alters, defaces, mutilates, impairs, diminishes, falsifies, scales, or lightens any of the coins coined at the mints of the United States, or any foreign coins which are by law made current or are in actual use or circulation as money within the United States; or Whoever fraudulently possesses, passes, utters, publishes, or sells, or attempts to pass, utter, publish, or sell, or brings into the United States, any such coin, knowing the same to be altered, defaced, mutilated, impaired, diminished, falsified, scaled, or lightened — Basically when you alter a coin, if it is no longer a coin anymore you're safe. If you change a quarter into a half dollar you are breaking the law.
Add engraving to this ring for $10. I can do one name, something very short like "♥ u Curt", or one date. Also let me know where to engrave. Inside of the ring or outside of the ring. If you do not, the engraving will be on the inside.
